Tom has led a successful career in all aspects of health system operations, planning, and development. Currently president and CEO of the Sisters of Charity Health System headquartered in Cleveland, Tom previously served as CEO of Summa Health System in Akron, OH. Prior to this he held senior leadership positions at Meridia Cleveland Clinic and Baxter Healthcare. Tom’s strategic vision has resulted in the successful development of new ventures, clinical service lines, and market share growth. He has provided dynamic leadership in achieving excellence in care quality, team performance, and employee engagement. What distinguishes Tom from many advisors is his hands-on experience in the translation of strategic direction into concrete accomplishment.
Tom received his Doctor of Pharmacy and his Bachelor of Science both from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. He has served as a board member at Premier, Austen BioInnovation Institute, United Way of Summit County, TeamNEO, BioEnterprise and Akron Tomorrow. He is the recipient of the Outstanding Fundraiser Award, Community Service Award, Northeast Ohio Business Hall of Fame and was named Nonprofit Executive of the Year in the 2008 Medical Mutual Pillar Awards for Community Service |
