Do You Have an Effective Strategy for Your Hospital?

​The October 2019 CEO Healthcare Roundtable will focus on developing strategies and solutions to address the complex issues involved with managing and integrating treatment for behavioral health and addiction into the care delivery system.

​Mental health treatment and integration continues to present significant problems for hospitals and health systems as our nation’s care delivery model struggles to integrate mental health care with on-going treatment of other medical conditions and diseases. This gets further compounded by the fact that while our society recognizes things such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease as sicknesses or diseases to be treated, we continue to “stigmatize” individuals with mental health or addiction issues and don’t treat their conditions as diseases.  This Roundtable will focus on innovative programs which move mental health from a “stigma” to recognition as “brain disease” and will discuss ways that industry leaders are driving change in recognition, treatment and care integration of the disease.

​Roundtable sessions will include:

• Presentations on current, creative models being developed to integrate mental health into primary care practices and addressing ways to better coordinate behavioral and medical care delivery
• Presentation by a leading health insurer about how plans have addressed implementation of the Mental Health Parity Act, as well as trends in design of benefits to address behavioral health coverage and treatment for mental illness and addiction
• Discussion about challenges and solutions for current workforce development issues in the areas of mental health and substance abuse, as well as strategies to identify and address provider “burn-out”
• Case studies from current Roundtable members sharing some of the innovative programs they have developed in these areas​
